powdercoating kit is only about $100. the problem is, you need a dedicated oven and an air source also. for the air source, you could use one of those portable tanks you fill at the gas station though, as it only uses 7psi air.

You need a dedicated oven because there is some volatility in the powders as they cure and it would contaminate food if used for both. My oven will fit an 18" wheel, maybe even a 19. They bake at 400 for about 25 minutes.
$100 includes black powder. for 129 you get a kit with 2 additional powders plus wire for hanging, hi=temp masking tape and a few other things. Plus you need a dedictated oven, which can run you anywhere from $50 to $200. mine was 175, but its big.

the finished product looks amazing...
it too bad you live in atlanta... i have a whole list of things i'd like to have powdercoated (calipers, winter rims, lug nuts etc.)
