ok...finally got the videos hosted...
and before anyone says it....NO THE TRACK IS NOT DOWNHILL...it's got an uphill runoff so it give the illusion that it's downhill...It's an IHRA track.
First one is my best E.T. run....
Right click and save as....
Second is my best trap run....
Right click and save as...
ENJOY!

Seriously though...when I started going to the drag strip, I always looked for advice from more experienced drivers. As soon as I'd pull up to the line...it all went to ****.
I can't sit here and tell someone what will work for them on a drag strip...they have to try different things and see what they like the best and what works for them.
I launch @ 3000-4000 rpms slipping the clutch and "feeling" for traction. While this works for me because I have learned clutch modulation over time...it doesn't seem to work for other people that ask for my advice....they just spin and spin (probably from letting the clutch out too fast).
The best advice I can give to someone is to go to the track...and get as many runs in as you can by practicing...
can you explain what you do when slipping? i completely understand what your saying about "feeling for traction" but are you trying to get as much power through w/out breaking the tires loose, or spinning them just enough? were you dropping any tire pressure when you were running on the re04's?

I am not trying to flame... being i have never been to a track yet and am looking foward to going this year... Can you explain to me why it looks like you are luanching when the light isn't even green yet.. you luanch like on the 3rd yellow i believe... i am not sure if that is what is suppose to happen or you were just launching early? can you please explain? also on the second vid where it doesn't show the light.. again you launch about .5 sec before the other Z..
Don't get me wrong though.... awesome driving and awesome times... been working on slipping the clutch and i think i have it down... can't wait to hit the track

It really doesn't matter when you actually leave the line though...I could have sat there for 10 seconds after the green...and still run the same time. The timer starts when you leave the line.
As for the run against the other Z....I just had a better reaction time and left the line first.
