JL Stealthbox - get ready . . .
Just got word this morning that the JL Stealthbox is on its way! They hope to have it shipping by the end of February. The design is ready to go and they are currently setting up for the production run.
The Stealthbox will fit under the rear strut bar and contain 2 10 inch subs. More than likely they will be 10W3v2s.
It should be well worth the wait!

Correct me if i'm wrong... but it isn't that "stealth" if you can see the box right? Maybe i'm misunderstanding what you are talking about

OZ, you're right - you would think that "stealth" means out of sight. However if you look at JL's line of Stealthboxes, you are able to see many of them in the vehicle. But they blend in so well that they are hard to spot. When possible, they tuck it away out of sight. With the Z, I'm sure space was the deciding factor. JL knew we would want something that would perform. Without losing the spare tire (which they will not do), it would be impossible to hide 2 10s out of sight.
Trust me, when that Stealthbox is in place you will not be able to see it outside the vehicle - but you will sure be able to hear it.
Thus another "Stealthbox" is born . . . .

Pictures should be on JL's site by the end of the week under Stealthboxes.
Does anyone know whene you can buy this stealth box? I personally would have rather had it under the strut bar, I like to toss stuff in the front part of the trunk. I also don't think having a big carpet mound in that location will look very good. But I also know that it will sound really good, and be virtually invisable from the outside of the car. I guess I just don't know if I should wait for this box.

Retail price is $749.95 - which does seem steep. However many of their other Stealthboxes retail for $500 and only contain one sub.
It does contain 2 10W3v2 as well, which is a quality sub.
Bottom line is cotact your local shop for their price. Retail is just that - suggested price.
Should be shipping end of February/first of March.
Does it look like it will occupy some space between the strut and the rear speakers? Nazar's box only occupy the space under the strut bar, thereby leaving ample space for an adult golf bag in front of the speakers and a junior golf bag in the back of the speakers.
I may be a little bias because I have Nazar's box. And its tight.

As far as having a carpet mound I'm guessing it will look pretty good. I'm sure someone's who's never been in a Z before would never notice that speaker sitting there if they looked in the back from the passenger seat. Definitely "stealth".
