Default My System and Custom Dash pics for new Headunit: WOW!!!!

Ok Guys. My damn pictures won't show up on the thread. Just a hyperlink. Anyone know how to fix this?

Ok. I have the nav, and just wasn't sastisfied with the Metra dash kit. I wanted something that looked more stock. I had Stan's Car audio in Lubbock, Texas rewire my nav to the Alpine 7894 using onecoolee's design. They put an alpine nav speaker in the console where your elbow rests when you drive. as for the dash piece here is what it is:

A plexiglass piece molded to the contours of the dash. They painted the backside of the plexiglass with a color to match the dash (found at autozone). Matt painted the back this silver, and then made a silver rim to match the rest of the panels/dials. He made a Z to match the Z design throughout the car. He also made 6 "square"s with 6 amber LEDs that turn on when the lights are on. Here is the cool part: Matt the installer used some paint to match the brightness/intensity of the amber LEDs to PERFECTLY match the lighting of the dash. You can see this in the 2nd to last picture. I am happy as hell with the job. Total cost was $325 (the alpine nav speaker was $75).

The last picture is my custom fiberglass box molded to the rear of my hatch that houses my 10" Boston pro sub. It kicks ***!

My system is Boston Acoustic Z6s up front, 2 Zapco reference 200s and Boston N6 in the rear, with a Boston pro 10" Sub in the rear on an Alpine 7894 HU. This system is quite honestly the best stereo I have ever heard (I guess for $4000 it should be). It was done last december but just recently had to change out the HU due to it holding back the rest of my awesome components. I didn't want to get rid of the factory look, but couldn't take the stock HU any more. I personally think the new dash is better than the factory double-din.

I don't know if it's just my connection, but I can't see your pictures when I link to them. Your decription sounds awesome, hope you are able to fix the problem.

just resize the images to be 640x480 and less the 200kb and you can attach them individually to each post. Look under the posting window where it say attach!! If you can't figure it out PM me and I will do it for you!

Looks great! That's the best single-DIN install I've seen in a Z.

Do you have anymore pics of the sub install or the box? I want to mount mine in that location.

CLS- It is a perfect location for the box. You just take out the plastic "filler" piece and cut a hole in the board above the tire as shown in the pic I just posted. It hits hard and is totally covered by the carpet and looks stock and hidden
