Custom Stereo Install with Pics
This forum has been a tremendous help in determing what components I would go with. I decided to keep the stock HU to maintain a stealth install. Haven't heard it yet, but I anticipate any problems. Anythings going to be a step up from the crap that comes with the car. Here's the laudnry list:
Headunit: Stock
Cadence CEQ-650 5-Band parametric EQ
MTX 4405 5-channel amp
2 sets of Cadence 6.5" ZX6KIT components
10" Image Dynamics IDQ Dual 4Ohm VC in stock location
Dynamat
Enjoy the pics...

So far, I'm not too impressed with the sound. The EQ is taking some getting used to and dialing in the sound is harder then I first thought. I'm taking it back to the shop for some tweaking and then I'll get back to ya'll...

The factory sub spot was dyanomatted and a custom enclosure was built using MDF and some fiberglass (although I'm not sure how much becuase I never saw the box before it went in. THe sub hasn't put out one clean note yet, it's all mud. I'm not sure if it's the connections or the EQ at this point. I was quick to take the car back becuase of a road trip I had to take (it was either the Honda or the Z for the 600 mile trip-actually ended up racing with a M3 in the mountains North of LA-122 mph in 6th with room to spare before we saw some cops and slowed) I'll give the car back to the installer tonight so he can work on it some. I'll post when I get it back....

Got the car back, finally. The amp gain was too high... Sounds so sweet now. Doesn't pound or boom to the point where you can hear it a block away, but the lows are clear and loud. This sounds so much better than stock...Very much worth the price I paid. Actually thinking of changing the HU because I'm hearing some hiss from CD's. Does anyone know the S/N ratio on these HU's? Will attach more pics if system is updated. Thanks for looking...

Both were used in the project. Resin seal and liquid nails on the box to eliminate any breathing. Dynamat on the inside of the sub positions, and in mid ports, doors, wheel well.
