Default Hey kids, CRACK kills!!

Saw this on a local G35 coupe today. (not mine!) Front passenger side wheel. Car is never raced or tracked at all...just easy, normal, daily driving.

Scary part is, the owner had no idea! Can you guess what kind of wheels they are?

That’s a serious crack. I am sure that under the right circumstances you can damage any wheel.

I agree. The dude must have slapped a pothole pretty hard or something.
(or they were chromed improperly?)

Nothing against the OP of course but why do people seem to have the impression that tracking a car does or could do more harm than the street.

I've seen lots of people that post cracked wheels and say car had never been tracked or raced and this happend (cracked pic posted).

Potholed streets at posted speed limits, are much harder on wheels than a typical race track at 150 mph.

Because it's true. Aside from an impact (pothole, curb, another car, etc...) race duty puts a wheel under much more stress than any aggressive street driving, and for a much more prolonged period of time. This particular wheel has no visible bends....not even any serious curb rash.
