SFR T-67 Single turbo system-Interest?
We are doing a single turbo system for one of our customers who has an 07' Rev-up G35.He wanted a single system because of his budget so we were happy to oblige.
We knew we wanted to do a top mount turbo system similiar to the Turbonetics and Powerlab systems.We then decided to use a full sized T4 turbo. A Precision T67 turbo with p-trim turbine wheel and .58 AR T4 exhaust housing was chosen to handle the duties of compressing the air.This turbo should be good for 420-440WHP at 8-9 psi on a stock motor! It has the ability of making about 700WHP on a built motor. There is enough room to run an H compressor housing which will allow you to run upto an 80mm turbo
The next thing that was mandatory was the use of a 3" downpipe. We started with a 3" V-band at the back of the turbo and made our way to the back of the car and utlized a splayed merge collector which allowed us to have a reverse Y and two 2.5" downpipes. To feed the turbo we used two 2.25" 304SS pipes off of each header and used a splayed merge collector to transition into a single 2.5" up pipe to feed the T4 flanged turbocharger. You can cooses between a Synapse 40mm or Tial wastegate with atmospheric dump or routed back into the downpipe.The intercooler will be a Spearco unit.For the G we will be using twin cores and if we go into production,the Z will use a single core.We will be using the stock headers for this system but we will also offer some of our equal length,Burns collector headers for those that want to upgrade the stock exhaust manifolds.The intake and intercooler piping will be aluminum and will utilize a Synapse Synchronic BOV.We can also offer HKS,Greddy Tial,etc....BOV's
It seems as though there is enough interest that we will be going into production with this system. We will be offerng a tuner system(no fuel pump,injectors or EMS) with a target price of $5295 or a complete system(fuel pump,injectors,tuned AEM FIC)with a target price of $5995? We were also thinking about offering an upgrade for the Turbonetics system which will allow you to easily eclipse the 500-550 WHP barrier that alot of guys see with built motors.
Also.......we will be releasing our super trick, indestructable, no frills, git-r-done, "Boost Cube" manual boost controller, next month. It has two boost settings with a switch to change boost levels.It has an overboost protection feature built into the unit and is in a really compact package.Basically it is about the size of a turbo timer.It is fully CNC'd and anodized and it works extremely well.There are no electronics and nothing that can break.I had a buddy run over one with his big rig and I picked it up and installed it back into our test car and ran it.LOL. There are two vacuum fittings on the back of the unit so hooking it up is simple.The best part is it will be retailing for $149.Oh and it looks really cool too

Would this be a viable option for stock block or would this turbo be too big to run a stock block 450whp setup while still being in the efficiency range. Glad to see everyone stepping up the game.

Also whats the power potential of the turbo setup? Right now i'm looking at a nice single turbo kit(trying to be a bit diff) something that has great upgradeability and great quality for great pricing. Pm me with any other info or development ..very interested

Well I am running 480WHP on my stock motor and we dynoed it in fourth gear so I imagine that is it making over 500WHP if we ran it in fifth gear.There is 35K+ miles on it now and still running strong after 2.5 years.In my opinion it really is all about the tuning and keeping the torque peak down.To answer your question,I think it will be a viable option.

We have heard from Precision that this turbo is capable of 700WHP

This kit will most likely make a little more power at the same boost level. However, we are not sure if we will go into production at this time. We will see when the dyno numbers posted and the pics and videos and all that sort of stuff.

Tim - Its the Z and G community were talking about here. Of course there will be interest! If you build it, they will come. Looks like a nice option. Keep us posted as pics, vids, and numbers start coming in.
