Default NA Project Part II with Forged Performace NA built motor

Well after trying the NA route and failing...I decided to try it again but this time with a NA motor built by Forged Performance. The motor is built with Cosworth high compression pistons. I will be using the Cosworth heads off my other attempted build with the same 272 intake and exhaust cams. If all goes well I should hopefully have the motor installed and running by next weekend and dynoed after a full break in.

Sharif--thanks for all the help!

Are you going to try the cosworth plenum or do you have anything already done with the intake side of things, and how high are you planning on reving to.

I am going to take my car and get a tune from UpRev. They can adjust the VTC angles for me to get more power down low from these cams.

At this time I will use the stock plenum with a MD 5/16 spacer. I plan to do the Cosworth plenum probably sometime this winter. I plan on reving to 7600 rpm for now.

+1^

I love to see the NA engines getting more popular. First Ritchie's Nismo engine, then Jeremy's high compression job, then Adam's awesome build, now yours. I'm excited to see the final results.

What type of fuel will you be running? Or are you going to have different maps for pump and race?

Are you doing anything about the crank rotating assembly (i.e. blueprinting, balancing etc).

What compression ratio are those pistons?

I am shooting for 300 rwhp. Anything over I will be super excited.

I will be using pump gas. Don't think the price for race fuel versus possible gains will be worth the expense. I may try it just to see.

The block was built by Forged Performance and included the balancing and blueprinting.

The pistons are 11:1 compression. I am using the Cosworth head gasket as well with L19 studs.

A little nitrous later down the road could be fun on a built high compression motor

That engine looks a lot better in your shop...instead of ours.

Glad everything arrived safely, and best of luck with the build-up. Keep us all posted, with how those high duration Tomei's work out for you!

Sweet....Hope you hit the 300 club with the N/A. I've been trying to find out, but has anyone done a stroked N/A build?
