Did anybody catch the 7 channel 7 abc news segment on Riverside PD and there modified car check points.

They were stopping and searching cars and impounding and arresting people

Forget companies like ROTA.... COPS hurt the aftermarket industry!!

How do all of you with turbos and things keep your cars in CA?

yeah its funny that a good majority of people who mod are knowledgeable about street racing, safety, etc. and many people who street race arent modded at all... they are the people who dont know the limits of their cars, etc.

I guess there are plenty of exceptions but it seems like the people who ask me about my car and how fast it is are people who dont know sh*t about cars in general and say they beat X,X,X, and X in a street race in their v6 mustang w/ nothing on it.

if those cars had better farking mods, it might not have happened.. wider tires, bigger brakes, and louder exhaust would notify other drivers your presence! Turbo gauges on the A pillar would give yourself better visibility, goddamit!

I think they were doing this in LA yesterday around 10:15pm. They had 2 cop cars on 6th street/alvarado around 10:15pm stopping cars that looked modified or looked suspicious. They let me pass cause my car is stock.

I would guess emission laws play into it too, so many tree huggers out there.

man wtf...

why cant cops do some real work like bust up all the gang and drug activity going on in socal?

i guess a loud exhaust or the sound of a blow off valve is just too irritating for them?

while they're pulling us over, writing us fix it tickets, people are slanging **** and getting killed.

thats the main reason i want to move outta cali asap....this **** wouldnt happen back east at all.

I was expecting to see 2 modified cars. A celica and a z4? those both suck.

This is so disheartening. Unfortunately you guys are right about stock cars vs. modified cars....I see more people racing stock cars than modified ones. Also, what really bothers me is that we get in trouble for our loud exhausts and how many Harleys are out there that if you stood next to them would make you deaf? Cali sucks in this regard....but we all live here and knew what we were doing when we put this stuff on our cars. It sucks, but we just have to deal with it and stay out of trouble.

Any modified car needs to get a "GET OUT OF JAIL FREE" card! I found mine...anyone else?

Another example of how anti-car california is :yuck: That kinda sh*t doesn't happen over here, and hopefully never will. The cops are ***** about speeding over here though...
