I used this screen tube as a baffle and worked great. Just cut the bottom rounded part off. I also left the white plastic filter in but completely cut the bottom off to create a tube to force air to circulate before going to the PCV. The metallic screen inserts into the cut white filter.
I initially used cleared tubing and found no discoloration after the catch can with the screen but found the incoming tube tinged with oil. By the way, if you are looking for tubing that won't collapse and can withstand the heat, Pep boys sells specific PCV tubing (use the 8.7mm diameter).
