Default THe Z is DEad

My 350z died last night on the way back to miami from the keys, 39000 miles on it, theirs a crack in the block, dont know what happened i kept up with all my maintenance, oil changed every 3000 miles, just dont understand what happened, taken it to the dealer tomm to see what they say but i think im gonna see if i can work out a deal to just trade it in for another z not too excited bout having a rebuilt motor or having a new motor put in and then the numbers not matching up with the car, so will see what happens, it hurts b/c i love my car but like my friends say everything happens for a reason.

man that's terrible to hear...and you didn't even go FI either. Could be a flaw off the production line. But sincerely wish all the best for you. Let us know how it turns out.

Any pics? Dealer isnt gonna try and blame your mods right? I would think they would tell you your **** out of luck, even if it was a flaw from the factory, isnt 39K really late for a flaw to happen? Either way, let us know what happens....gl!

A lot of things could have caused that cracked block.
I'm betting the dealership is definitely going to argue that the mods were to blame. I'm afraid you're going to have a hard time proving them wrong.

I do hope it works out for you though.. Pity to have a fellow Z'er down...

well theirs a z mechanic their that i asked always previously b4 putting the mods on if i could do them and he said none of that hurts the motor b/c its just exhaust but guaranteeing his opinion will change quickly lol tomm, it sux im gonna take a pic of the crack on the block tonite, b/c you can see it, its on the bottom part of the motor, anybody think it would be a good idea to just try and work a deal out with the dealership to buy my car and get another z???

If I were you I'd try to go back to stock as much as possible....then go in. Don't want to take any chances bc if they refuse then your on record for good...you can find most stock parts cheap on the forums if need be. It's still better than buying a new engine

this may be of some help if things dont work out:

Thermal shock is the only thing I can think of. But, you were in florida at the time, so something's a little bit fishy... Thermal influences can be extremely stressful on materials.

Did you let your car warm up or just get in and redline it? Making a cold engine hot quickly is very bad =( .

+1.

i'm afraid of this too man. and like someone else said, before you go in, getting back to stock if possible might give you a little more leverage...

anyways, i'd like to know what they have to say and why block cracked...

i hope everything is able to work out for you.

going back to stock as much as possible is a must.

do your best, they should not give you any problems. The block is suppost to be a strong one. 500rwhp +
How much were you pushing?
I saw you have a ST Turbo kit.

How hard do you drive the car in general?

Have you ever missed a shift and popped it into a lower gear during an intended redline upshift?
