Ran a new personal best (maybe forum best) BONE STOCK!
Went to Byron Dragway today and there were three other Z's there. Two of them were modded and one stock. I was the only one in the 13s all day. I am BONE STOCK, no sticky tires today....actually I was on SNOW TIRES on which I didn't even match my previous best 2.04 60' that I pulled on my stock RE040s.
It was a great day for racing....55 degrees and sunny. I had a great time talking to the other Z guys....
So now that I've babbled...onto the goods....
Best E.T. Run
R/T .727
60' 2.09
330' 5.83
1/8 8.87
MPH 81.53
1000' 11.49
1/4 13.68 (possibly a stock record)
MPH 102.77
Best MPH Run
R/T .761
60' 2.17
330' 5.92
1/8 8.95
MPH 81.70
1000' 11.56
1/4 13.75
MPH 103.12 (also possibly a stock record)
The second run there is for all the haters out there who said that I'd NEVER trap 103mph STOCK. Did it boys. And 3 other Z drivers were there.
Some might say that the track was abnormally fast or something...but none of the other Z's ran into the 13s or trapped high....and only one, modded with (intake, plenum, pully, TS ECU, and Exhaust) ran over a 102mph trap (102.47 mph).
I can attribute my quicker E.T.s and traps to driver experience...none of the other guys had much drag experience and weren't quick shifters from what I saw.
I'll post my timeslip tomorrow and the run is on video too...so as soon as I get it off the cam and on the internet I'll post a link.

Congrats on the fast times Brian. For all the non-believers, I was there and saw him do it. Best I could muster yesterday was a 14.13/101.22.
Brian, last time out, I got a 13.85/102. So some of us have track experience and good times. Its your 60' times which are hard to beat, not shifting. And that, is driver skill. Well done. But please, try to be a little more humble when talking about other Z driver's ability and you will get more respect.

I should have said. "The other guys had a really hard time hooking up off the line"
Thanks for the pic! I should have the videos up sometime this week.

I think this one is of you racing that Turboed 240. That thing was fast! 12.75's @17psi!! I think you had a 13.77ish on that one. Nice runs Brian. Seriously nice to see you represent the Z's so well.

I would add one asteriks to the "Bone Stock" and thats that your car had different rims and tires.

I am not dissing Brian's times. His 60' times were freaky. Just stating facts for the record. I believe Brian had Michelin Alpins and 17" Rage Breakers. I think the Alpins stayed soft in the colder weather. I'm sure that helped him hook. But he had 60' times in 2.1 and 2.0* which are driver produced good for any non-drag tire. He traps higher as well. One car had Crawford plenum, CAI, Stillen exhaust, ECU and (I think) pulley and he could not trap as fast as Brian's car. Best I've ever gotten with the 18" Potenzas in this weather is 2.101. I definitely would have liked to try those tires out though.

I did pull a 2.04 and 2.07 60' times back when I had my stock rims and RE040s though....

BTW - the STi thing was a joke because guys are always coming onto threads a saying they own both cars to somehow make their arguement more valid. So no...don't have an STi...would be nice though

There will be a bunch of nissans (mostly maximas) at Byron on April 17th though. I'll have my Yamaha R6 out there assuming it's warm enough...going for high 10s
Alberto - After I trapped 101.5 in 90 degree heat, I knew a 103mph trap wasn't out of the question....glad I finally proved the doubters wrong! thanks for the props...

I was the other silverstone out that day. I was tough getting spanked by a stock Z
Driving around on the street, its easy to think you fast until you get your car out to the track! I think most of the NA mods are great for top end power, all my trap speeds were in the triple digits. I'm also wondering what some lightened rims can do for my Z.
Has anyone dynoed a car with just a rim change?
'Props to Brian for running those sweet 1/4 times!
