Exclamation Another Direct Power System-type scam? Hey, Jesseenglish: Got another one for you!

For those of you that remember the DPS (Direct Power System) fiasco, I've got another one for you (out of Japan again, no less). For those that would like a refresher, here is the main DPS thread.

Anyway, someone on my FX forum found this thing and an erie sense of familiarity came over me and I thought I'd submit it to the scrutiny of the Z forums once again. It's called the Raizen Volt Stabilizer. Here's the webpage. At least you can see the guts to this one. Enjoy!

Hmm, think they heard about the DPS fiasco? From their webpage: "Our confidence in performance means we can make a see-through case."

This is brilliant: "Circuitry has waterproof coating. (But do not to install in areas subject to water or spray with water)"

Ooo, and it's got a little blue LED inside to PROVE it's doing something!

All this for only $108. (includes generic DIY grounding kit. $78 for the unit only.)

It looks like a couple of capacitors in parallel. If that's what it is you could build the same thing for under $20 including the wiring. Might not look as nice, but it'll do the same thing. Which is not a hell of a lot. Those caps don't look big enough to make much of a difference.

Raizin brings you not only ideal electrical efficiency and voltage supply stabilization, but with our original circuitry design and our special noise reduction condenser you can enjoy diminished noise and lessened high-frequency impedance.

So what's your overall opinion of the product? Are we looking at another DPS here?

i think its another scam.

capacitors that tiny really cant store any significant power in an automobile application. actually...they might be usefull afterall.

someone mentioned there's an LED on the thing. that would store enough power in case the LED drew too much power from the battery. heh.

i have to hand it to them. they atleast put a bit more effert then a fuse sottered to 2 wires and wrapped in aluminum foil. garbage.

i'm sure many of you have seen the new (or relatively new) apex-i "super ground system". i'm not sure if it works or not, but it does look alot like these scams. as many of you know, apex-i is a very legit company that has made alot of great aftermarket parts, and i was just a little suprised to see something like this coming from them.
