LED Parking lights by ares
I received and installed my LED parking lights I ordered from ares back in December. Let me just say that they are top quality and worth every penny. Sure you can buy a cheap blue colored bulb on ebay if you want, but the light these give off looks like TRUE HID and makes the headlamp look the way it should have from the factory.
Installation was a breeze with ares step by step instructions. It would have taken about 20 minutes, but I installed my clear sidemarkers at the same time and it ended up taking a while (damn that passenger side washer fluid reservior). Instructions can be found here:

Onto the pics!
edit: these are 5500k white bulbs

Do you have to remove the light to put those in? How did it only take 20 min? In the pics I see two colors, blue and purple/pink. What is causing that effect? Have you done something different to the stock orange markers on the lights that now look purple/pink?

you go in through the wheel wells. I dont know if you can remove the headlights without going through the wheel well anyway.

Okay, I read the step-by-step and it sounds easy enough... but then what is all the stuff I read about the "oven method" and removing the headlights to make modifications and needing "clean rooms" and "dust free" rooms so as not to mess up the light housing? I was under the impression that modifying the lights was a risky project. Am I confusing two different things?

I now see what the mod was with the parking lights... so my question remains... what mod was done to the stock orange strip in the lights to make it pink/purple?
Also, ares this looks good. What are the prices and color choices?

for another 10 days the prices are 30$ for white; and 35 for cyan/blue/green/amber. along with 4$ shipping. after that they will go up to 35 and 40. just a little introductory offer to get a few out there for people to see. the whites ship within a day or 2; other colors are "special order". these are very expensive LEDs and I cannot keep all the colors on hand, the 5$ is basicly shipping for special order of the LEDs.
Im in the midst of setting up a website to make ordering that much easier.
as for the "oven method". thats a whole nother beast. that is what youd do if you wanted to paint the housing black; or a complicated LED conversion project. these are a plug in replacement bulb; just as if you were replacing a burnt out bulb.

AAAARRRGGHH!!!! I can't wait for mine now! How much heat are these things putting out if any? I wonder if it will burn off some sort of "colored" cap. Light output is phenomenal for my application, so the loss of light from the cap/coating might be acceptable.
