Default Cheaper 7" VGA touchscreen

Has anyone here tried one of these?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=38650

Here's a review of the Xenarc Vs Lilliput

http://www.digitalww.com/lilliput_vs_xenarc.htm

And another from a user on MP3car

http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/show...9&page=1&pp=15

This appears to be a cheaper alternative to the Xenarc screen. Looks like it's got good video quality, now the only question is will it fit.

Thanks for the link to ebay.

Touchscreen overlay are not that expensive. Plus its mass produced in China, I think Xenarc uses the same ones.

Now I'm just curious... how does this one fit our Z? If it fits fine, I'll get this for sure

You can put it in the pocket where the factory nav screen should be or replace the Bose hu with the screen mounted in a custom face plate. I even seen one mounted on a flexible goose neck. The guy kept the Bose hu and the factory nav screen.

Just a warning I have been reading on MP3Car.com's forums that these are not shipping. People have been waiting forever to get these.

There was a period of time that they weren't shipping, but I emailed the seller and he said they are currently shipping them again.

So, any idea if you have to mod the LCD to fit it in the factory screen pocket like the Xenarc? Or you can just use double side tape to fit it like the Farenheit? My gf's going to China/HK in Dec, I may ask her to bring me back one if it can fit our cars

I finally got my Lilliput 7" touch screen. It took about 5 days to get it and it was worth it.
I'll post some pics later once I install in my Z.

OK, I got my Lilliput screen and here's my review.

The box came well packed with an adapter for both household AC power and the car DC power. It comes with a nice stand that has doublesided sticky tape on the base of it. I have the touchscreen version and the stylus that comes with it is pretty crappy. I'm going to be buying a better stylus. It comes with all the cables needed to hook up to either a VGA screen or NTSC/PAL signal. Yes, supposedly you can use this screen to hook up to a TV signal. I haven't actually tried it yet, but I will tomorrow.

The picture is very bright and can be viewed at virtually any angle without any loss of picture quality. The screen itself is a 16:9 screen so the image is somewhat stretched out. The touchscreen works flawlessly. When I first plugged in the monitor, some of the letters were a little bit fuzzy, but with some adjustment of the phase setting the image was cleaned up.

I have not attempted to mount this in my Z yet. The actual physical dimensions of the screen with plastic housing are

7 3/8" W X 5" H X 1.5" D

Physical dimensions of the LCD image are 6" W X 3 5/8" H.

I ran the monitor for about 1 hour and didn't notice any problems with it. I'm actually typing up this post on the monitor right now.

Here are some pics of the monitor.

I got mine about 2 weeks ago. It is a damn good screen.
Where are you going to mount yours at?
Mine will replace the Blose HU. I'm still building the adapter plate.
