This is so not fair..... :)
Okay, a great many of you are going to want to kick my *** after seeing the attached image.
If you recall, I had mentioned in a previous post that this press kit had three cd's in one booklet that were labeled "Game", "DVD" and "Music".
Now I am pretty darn busy so I didn't have time to even open the game or music disc sleeve. I checked the dvd and when I finished drooling, I went about life.
So I was sitting here and I opened the game disc.... (see attached image)
I don't even OWN a PS2! I own an an Xbox with 16 games but I am going out to buy a PS2. Count on it. I owned a PS2 when GT3 first came out and then sold my PS2 to get the Xbox because I got bored with the PS2 at the time. (note... this isn't a which is better thread, if you have comments or thoughts on which is better, please post them in the off topic area)
So now after seeing this, I am asking myself... is it the same game? Is it a special version with the final 350Z in it? Is the 350Z unlocked?
I am racing over to a friend's place right now to find out... assuming he's home that is, I'll fill ya in when I get back!

Nissan if you are reading this post, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE allow us poor owners the option of buying the press kit, or just leave a few in our glove compartments.

Okay, I just played the game.
It is Gran Turismo Concept 2001 and it plays on North Americna machines. A few differences though from the actual Concept Tokyo 2001 game for Japanese PS2's
For one... you can only play the 350Z. Choose any color though, Redline, Brickyard, whatever. You can't mod the car. You can't save the car. You ONLY HAVE THE CAR. You race against other 350Z's.
You can't choose courses, you get to choose amateur or professional and then it chooses the course for you. I didn't play the game much because my buddy had to leave, but what I saw looked damn impressive. Enough for me to race out and buy a PS2? ummm.... not sure yet.
Abyss... what was that offer again?
Copat... let me get this right... you know Nissan watches the forum, and you're asking me to allow you to make copies of this game or walk me through making copies of a game that is copyrighted?

JAY....If by the end of the week Nissan doesnt offer that game to the public.....ill buy you a ps2 for that game...only catch is i would like the original you can make a copy...did i say that....that would be illegal.

I am thinking the reason this DVD and PS2 game was not made widely available is more than likely cost. Let's face it, creating dvd's and specially made PS2 games aren't exactly cheap. Now compound that out over the 7500 or so preorders and yikes, Nissan is dropping 50,000-100,000 they really don't need to.
I'm not the man with the plan though, so that's just my guess.

You did read that it's not the full game right? It's only the 350Z in this game. The start-up footage shows a GT-R Concept hauling through a windy canyon... made my mouth water. Then I was bummed that it wasn't in the game either. Maybe it's a bonus car or something... I am not sure.
All I know if that it's one car (350Z), all color options, you can turn off traction control etc.. very cool bonus. A couple tracks. Basically, a scaled down version but a nice touch for sure.

I bought a legal copy of GT Concept from overseas, and will be performing some minor surgery on my PS2 to get that working this weekend. GT Concept has the full production version of the Z, plus a TON of other cool overseas cars that aren't in the NTSC N/A game. (Like the WRX STi...)
Anyhow, if you can summarize the game a bit, it might help to quell some of the bonfires burning to actually have it.
