Where: Meet in the Ralph's shopping center. Idea is to meet at the back of the Blockbuster parking lot.

What: Initial Meet at noon at back of Blockbuster parking lot in Ralph's shopping center. At 12:30, we caravan to Malibu Fish & Seafood (subject to change). We eat and enjoy. Sometime between 1:30 and 2pm, we leave for our canyon run. Last time we did Latigo Canyon and Mulholland.

EVERYONE please bring a two way walkie talkie, or two. They help so we don't get separated, so we can give notifications about road conditions, etc.

 

Haven't been to a canyon run in a while... very tempted but have a ski trip planned for that day. I'm down for another weekend.

 

Can someone recommend a good walkie talkie say about 30 bones?

 

Motorola Talkabout... you can get them at Frys or Best Buy or any other shops that sell electronics....

 

I'm sure the motorola's are nice, but from what I remember, they're quite a bit more than the others. If you're just using it for drives such as this, a basic two-way with an 8 mile or so range should be fine. Something with subchannels is even better for more options and functionality down the road. I think I have a cobra, non rechargeble which I got for ~$30-40.

Yes. This is more of a run than your usual sit in the parking lot look how much money i poured into my car meet. It will be fun just don't find out your limit the hardway.
