Default aps intake tube support bracket on 05 6mt coupe

so from studdying pictures i noticed that the intake tube support bolts onto the front of the engine.. arent the 05 g35 6mts coupes engines a little bigger up front because of the variable valve exhaust timing? i know the vortech kit wont work the 05 6mt g35's because of this issue and the mounting bracket for it... so im wondering if the aps kit will have the same issue.. and if there is an issue im also curious as to how much this support piece is really needed? im sure i could modify to work i would just like to know ahead of time before this is an issue during install..
anyone?

Hi Paranormal,
Are you talking about the supplemental fitting kit with the intake pipe specifically for the G35?

I will speak to Peter to find out exact details for you, but i presume the supplemental kit is what you are talking about.

James.

no im not referring to the supplemental kit.. im talking about the 05 6mt 298hp engines being bigger up front because of the variable valve exhaust.. and the intake tube on the aps that connects to the plenum has a support bracket that mounts to the front of the engine and i was wondering if it will be ok on my car...

I don't have the answer you're looking for, but maybe you can compare your car with this picture:

yes in the picture the part im reffering to is on the opposite side of the blow off valve.. the mounting bracket. anyone install the aps tt on a 298hp rated engine with the differnt lower plenum and the variable valve exhaust engine?

here is a couple pics of somone who tried to install the vortech but failed because of this issue..

I don't know the answer to your exact question, but I seem to recall that when the APS techs came over here a few months ago (to Brainstorm I believe) they assisted in an install on an '05 G35 Coupe... the big thing on everybody's mind then was whether or not the unichip would work with the '05 ECU, but presumably the hard parts either worked as is or they were fairly straightforward to modify...

Yes, the kits will work on the 05 298whp addition cars, as Peter and his installed test fitted on here in the USA.

Yes, the bracket mounts fine. Just spoke to the engineering manager and was trial fitted in the USA as Sharif stated for fitment.
