Default throttle body spacer

i bought one of these for my wifes Envoy a few years back and it helped with gas mileage a little bit, i don't know about power though. Anyways this is the first time that i have ever seen one for our vq motors, is this just another rip of like turbonater and all that other crap?

Throttle body spacers basicly add more overall volume to the intake manifold...

On the VQ35 powerplant we use full plenum spacers that add even more by spacing the upper and lower intake plenums...

Motordyne is the most popular spacer kit for the VQ...

And we have many instock in both 5/16th's and 1/2" spacer kits!

If you already have a plenum spacer, expect to gain less than 1hp with the throttle body spacer.

Here is a link to the throttle body spacer we manufacture: http://www.alteredatmosphere.com/mm5...de=350Z_INTAKE

The AAM Throttle Body Spacer primary design is to provide additonal vaccum ports, so you do not have to tap your manifold.

Hope this helps,

I've got one on my Frontier and it seems to help. A guy on a Titan forum tested them and got some gains too. Some say they are a waste and snake oil, so it's debatable if they do anything.

I just installed a Helix throttle body spacer today. I definately felt some low end torque gains with it. I had one on my TRD supercharged Tacoma and it worked as well. Without the spacer, my Tacoma boosted about 7 PSI. With it, it boosted about 8-9 PSI at WOT.

I came from a Dodge Hemi forum and it did not provide any gains on that engine. If the injectors are located at the end of the intake runners (like they are on the Hemi), then there's no affect on mixture. What the spacer did do, however, was generate a whistling sound.

I don't know if it will provide any gains on the VQ motor. It depends totally on the location of the injectors, and if swirling the air through the TB improves the mixture. If you try it, let us know the results.

does the flex from a Z-tube allow for enough room, or is a shorter intake tube required?...

yes it will clear, it won't work if you have a motordyne throttle bypass plate though

Interesting... I have the manual valve so it wouldn’t be an issue, but the copper plate is very thin - I would think the TB spacer would be more of an issue than the MD Iso-Therm kit...
