Default Gates 600-8MGT-20 cog belt and NAPA belts for Vortech

I thought I'd share a source to obtain this belt. My belt broke and I searched a lot of places to find one on short notice. This belt is an industrial belt, which is why it's not common in an auto parts store. None in my area had one.

Using the Gates distributor search, I found a national company with many local offices that has them for a good price. www.motionindustries.com You can order it online for $25.98, but I called the local office and got a price of $15.13 and I can get it tomorrow. Regardless, it's still cheaper than the $39 price of the belt from www.superchargersonline.com and their overnight shipping of about $60.

I don't know what Vortech charges for the belt, but it has to be more than $21.

I found another source in the southeast that has them for $12.38. http://www.powerandpumps.com/company/locations.htm They also ship anywhere. I spoke with Wally - 813-621-8071 x4521

And just so we have all the belt numbers in one thread, the NAPA numbers for the serpentine belt are:
25-060930 = 93 inch belt for the 2.87 and 3.12 pulley
25-060935 = 93.5 inch belt for the 3.33 pulley

The Gates number is the same as NAPA, without the 25- prefix.

I know this thread is old, but a few of us vortech n00bs have different belt sizes. I just got a tuner kit for my 03 G and the belt that came with it is a Gates K060795. It also said on it that it's around 80". I'm I missing something here? 80"-93" seems like an awful big difference.

Is that a new tuner kit? They must have changed the belt routing if it is a new kit.

By golly you're right. . .I see on the parts list page (vi for 03-05 Zs) it lists an un named belt: K060795 Implying a 79.5" belt. My manual was printed on 06/07/07. The online manual lists the belt as BELT, 4060935-GOODYEAR. That's the 93.5 incher. Also, here are the routings from the online manual to my manual. Looks like they omit a bunch of idlers now. Interesting. I have an extra idler pulley now.

Sorry for the crap quality on the pictures!

Interesting...so since my used kit came w/the 79.5" belt, I guess it's a "newer" kit, huh?

Default belt size

I was wanting to know if the 79.5 revised belt is for the standard 3.33 pulley also. I also contacted motion industries with the gates 79.5 part number in this thread and they told me that I need to go napa. Does motion industries have their own part number for the 6 rib belts?

if motion can get gates serp belts ( i dont see why not), you just use the generic gate serp part #. They can look it up.

But Napa usually has those in stock and probably cheaper anyhow
