Default Turbonetics kit..Legalis R or sm Ultra?? LINKS inside

http://www.gruppe-s.com/350z/zex.htm --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am dropping in my turbo this coming week and need a new exhaust. Which exhaust would best compliment the turbonetics system the tanabe sm ultra single exhaust or the fujitsubo legalis R??? Tanabe is full titanium single exit w/ 70mm piping and fujitsubo is stainless w/ 76mm piping. So what do you guys think???

Tanabe-http://www.hopupracing.com/taulmeni35co.html-

Bigger is better when it comes to turbo exhaust piping. My vote is for the Fuji...

although you're giving only 2 choices, I would vote for one like the Tanabe but custom made in 3". The more straight and large the piping is, the more flow you get.

I am not sure what the inside diameter is for the Turbonetics kit, it might be 2.75".. if it is, then the 3" exhaust might not give you that much more flow. If it is 3" inside diameter however, I would definitely go 3" straight through like the Tanabe.

The Tanabe 70mm however translates to 2.75".

I've got the Fujitsubo Legalis-r with the Turbonetics ST and it sounds great. I think it's a slightly quieter than stock with the turbo, but it sounds real exotic, very deep and smooth when under boost. You can actually hear the turbo spool well with it and no drone in the car.

By the way, that video I had a while back was with an exhaust leak cause come to find out one of my v-band clamps was broken. The exhaust sounds a lot better now.

The Tanabe Ultra Med. is very striaght flow, and matches up perfectly with the pipe from the Turbonetics kit... So unless those pics are not accurate seems like more bends and what not holding up some flow on the fujitsubo. Though that is IMO and cause I am unbaised

Well I'm not saying the Tanabe WONT work or that you shouldn't get it. In the end it comes down to personal preference. Both will get you an increase in performance over stock. I personally like the look of twin tips over a single but the singles are nice too.
