We took in a stock rev-up G35 today, and first thing strapped it to the dyno. Made 3 dyno pulls so we could have a consistent number to compare from, however in the process our dyno's tack wasn't reading TQ properly and was bouncing all over the place during each pull, so we only logged HP..

So during our baseline pull we got a maximum of 239.35WHP SAE Corrected.. And here's a picture of the pull to show what our tq was doing just so you all know..



So after we pulled this car consistent 3 times we shut it off, and had one of our technicians install one of the powerlab 3/8 plenum spacers on it. According to the dyno logs it took our technician a mere 30 minutes to install the piece and have it ready for dyno again The "sticky gaskets" made it a breeze to install...

Here are the after results!



As you can see the majority of the power was gained up-top however there was a very consistent gain of 5+ WHP in the midrange.



This is definitely a great modification for bang for the buck! Especially for the amount of time it takes and the price for the piece. It's almost unbeatable especially compared to others on the market.

yeah, thanks to lightning mcqueen...

For some reason we always seem to have an issue dyno'ing rev-up engines.. We dyno'd an 03 shortly after without problems

On a serious note! I'd like to tell anyone that this is what it is, there are no fudged numbers, if anyone would like to have the dyno data or anything for themselves I'm more then happy to e-mail you dynorun files (Which is why i explained the lack of tq numbers in the initial post)

what a surprise, looks like every other dyno with whatever spacer you want to insert. look fellas, it was great for intensepower to post these dynos but could you not figure out for yourself that a spacer is a spacer?

I agree with the both of you actually, and have alluded to it in the press release thread for this spacer:

It's not rocket science. Both PowerLab and Intense agreed that we would offer this high quality piece at a FAIR price. We're not greedy peeps. That's not only apparent with this product, but in how we conduct our daily operations in mail order. I'm sure that comes as no surprise to our customers and anyone who's aware of our reputation in general. While we are of the business mindset that manufacturers should be paid their due respect (for r&d, etc)-- both in respect and monetarily -- there is plenty of profit in this (and like products) to still sell at this price, and even slightly higher. CNC products obviously increase a product BOM over and above that of waterjetted products too.

More to the subject, no, these dyno results don't vary greatly from other products of this nature -- given similar dyno, environmental conditions, etc. 3/8" billet aluminum was what WE determined was the best thickness/material to go with because it allows for the retention of the factory/aftermarket front upper strut tower bar, engine cover, and still produced ideal hp. Adding the "sticky gasket" is novel, as PowerLab was the first manufacturer to incorporate this into their design. Again, this isn't rocket science -- since Esprit invented this for the VQ there's been many variations on the theme (this is obvious, so I won't be redundant in details). The bottom line is that we looked at all of the other designs and drew up this design. Results speak for themselves.

I can respect the enthusiasm and such, but seriously 5hp? if you did a blind test you could not tell the difference in 5 hp. being under 200 bucks and easy install is nice, but I would think the 200 bucks might be better spent on something suspension related or towards a set of tires
