When I was peeling off painter's tape yesterday I was thinking, "those covers would be useful right about now." I'll be back at VIR for the Grand Course in 2 weeks. If they are ready by then I'll take a set, if not I'll pick them up over my summer hiatus from track events.
Looking good!

All right guys did some test fitting this week on a few Z's, including a '07 last night and everything fits great. A couple minor adjustments but no big deal. The major difference I did see however which was no big suprise is that the people w/ the stock setup..(hood and bumper) these things fit extremely snug - very tight fit. Aftermarket hood and bumpers... aka seibon, there was much more clearance.
Because of this phenomena, the pre-drilled hole in the bracket was a few millimeters off randomly on each car depending on the original fit of the bumper and hood used on each car....I labeled this as kind of an X factor because the hole would align slightly differently in each fitting. Of course I could squeeze it into place but I didn't want to do that.
Therefore these will be sold w/ the bracket un-drilled. The end-user will drill the hole in the bracket to fit their specific fitting. This is the best solution to ensure proper alignment. I guess I'm just picky., but your guy's thoughts are always welcome. Within the next couple of days I will have a detailed post showing everything , (mounting, contact points, ect..) w/ official pricing and a 1st-run interest list. Shortly following the list the 1st batch will be produced w/ a primary for-sale thread so people don't have to sift through this thread for all the details.

Ok guys here's the official 1st version. All testing and fitting has been done and the hero copy has been complete. This design represents the compilation of 3 months of trial and error to bring you something I am pleased w/. These will be made to order so no mass production and they will come in either flat black or a low sheen ( semi-flat ) black color-( your choice ). These are extremely flexible, ABS covers that will not crack. The price for these will be $249 for a pair plus shipping. These are intended for off-road use only and are not made for daily driving. They will not work w/ eyelids or any other headlight cosmetic trim piece. All questions are welcome and 1st run interest list is will be in the following post.

Yeah $250 is way too much for me. I can get full replacement headlights for less than that, shipped.

No worries..this is def not for everybody., but the ease and functionality -to me , make it worthwhile...you couldn't pay me a couple hundred bucks to remove my bumper and swap headlights every time I went to the track. On a side note, alot of people purchase eyelids for a hundred dollars which look kinda cool, but have no function whatsoever...and removing them - forget about it.

I appreciate all of your work on this and I do think they look nice. However, for that price it's a bit too steep for me. Maybe I'll double-layer my painter's tape!
What if all those that were interested did a "group buy" so that you had a larger count, which would increase your profit and then you just decrease the margin based on the volume.
Just throwing out ideas.

I'd be down for a group buy for the 1st run of these covers...prob going to be around 5-10 pairs. I've sold a couple one-offs so far and the response has been great. But in the end, I'd like to see a handfull of these things put to good use within the next few weeks and get some quality feedback. For the GB for the 1st set, a price of $179 + shipping w/ no paypal fees.

I'd be in for that price if we can get enough people. Unfortunately, my next event is a week from Friday and I won't be back on track until September (4 events this fall though). Let's make it happen so I can run these at VIR next weekend!
