Something a bit different, SRT-10 Ram install with DLS :)
So finally got done with this badboy, being so large of a vehicle, it took a while longer for me to sort out the logistics of parking it in and having room to work on it lol.
anyway, its a brand new pretty much SRT-10 Ram Quad Cab pickup.
the goals:
1. superb SQ
2. Maintain a classy yet stock looking install
3. Double Din NAV conversion
lets get started.
The 06 ram you can acutally do a double din conversion as oppososed to many other chrysler vehciles where its strictly Din and a half. What you need is to get the dodge factory NAVI trim bezel. and then use the metral navi install kit. but after some work, the Avic-Z2 got in it and sits pefectly. A bit more wiring work was involved due to the CAN BUS on these vehicles... note the DLS remote bass control in the lower hole.
The front stage is a hybrid of sorts, the customer supplied a pair of Adire Audio Koda 6s for midbass, whcih went into the factory location, of course, the doors are dmapened with Edead
and a set of DLS UR2.5 midrange and Iridium 1 tweets were flushed into reinforced factory kicks
here is the view from the backseat looking forward:
i also hooked up the stock top of the dash 3" spekares, via new wiring and bass blockers, to the rear channels of the Z2's internal amp, when faded forward, they play very low and helps to raise the sound stage a bit I found a pretty neat location for hte GPS atenna, i hollowed out the useless center channel 3" spekaer, and put it there underplastic vent, fully hidden:
here is the center console open:
and here is the factory rubber mat removed, revealing an audiocontrol DQX digital 31 band eq and 3 way xover
oh yeah, rear doors were dampened as ewll, with some raammat supplied by the customer, one note about raamat comapred to the new Edead Superthick, i HATE getting black goo all over my hands from using raammat...
now here is the back seats in their normal position:
and now is what lies beneath when they are flipped up. a one piece MDF/Fbierglass rack, vinyled, shows off a single Iridium 10" sub, and two DLS reference amps, a RA50 5 channel, and a RA20 two channel. I also got an SRT-10 Emblem from Dodge and put it omn a raised vinyl platform for effect
Through the DQX and the onboard xovers on the DLS RA50, the entire system is being run FULLY active, the RA20 sends 120 watts to the Koda 6s, 80-900ish hz (still being tuned), the RA50's front channels sends about 75 watts a piece to the UR25(900-3500hz), and IR1 (3500hz and up), while the sub channel of the RA50 sends about 400 watts to the IR10 (80hz down)
I am pretyt happy with how it came out, many people who saw it thought it was stock, whcih was hte goal i wanted to achieve
and a shot of the stuff below the amp/sub rack:
right now, even without tuning, i have to say it sounds pretty darn nice, one of the most dynamic systems i have done with a lot of power going up front
enjoy

i have the grille in there to push the carpet up, so it doesnt drape down and cuase any noises
